New iCloud backup and iPad 5.0.1 January 2012

With the new version of iOs 5 comes the addition of the amazing iCloud which stores all your backup information. The iCloud can backup these tabs if you select them on the screen:
  • Mail
  • Contacts
  • Calendars
  • Reminders
  • Bookmarks
  • Notes
  • Photo Stream
  • Documents & Data
  • Find My iPad
There are also a tabs on the iCloud screen that will allow you to look at how much storage space you are using and allow you to manage storage which shows you your device and how much storage it takes up. If you select the storage and backup tab. There are options to purchase additional storage and it is quite reasonable.

Your iCloud account comes with 5GB of storage free.

iCloud Storage Plans 5GB free + 10GB = 15GB for $20/year 5GB free + 20GB = 25GB for $40/year 5GB free + 50GB = 55GB for $100/year
There is a buy more storage button on the screen so you can buy more storage and you will be charged immediately and each year until you change or cancel your plan.

The Back Up Now button will allow you to immediately backup camera rolls, accounts, documents, and settings when your ipad is plugged in, locked, and connected to Wi-Fi. Underneath the “Back Up Now” button is the time stamp for when the data was last backed up.

To check and see the information that iCloud is backing up go back to your settings screen and choose your “mail, contacts, calendar” tab. You will see a list of your accounts and each type of information that account is backing up. if you click on the iCloud account it will bring you back to the iCloud admin panel where you can set the controls on what you want backed up.
